not all that easier thing to find, cause they are such a hard engine to kill

290 wkw on 9psi, modified the manifolds and got it running 18psi

havent pulled it apart yet as cant get the sump off in place,

but the oil sample results are bad,
very high silica, or dirt apparently the guys that tuned it did an oil change, the lab doesnt believe me that it was around 1500km ago, they say the oil is very old!

engine started making a nasty knocking noise under boost,

this is a screen, partical count of the oil sampled. bear in mind this is under a microscope,

no idea of the oil brand, the car tune company did the oil change when it was tuned,

have the engine out and stripped now, #3 big end has spun, crank doesnt look to bad, i guess the machinists will soon tell me if its usable or not,

rest of the engine is badly contaminated main bearings and cam journals have had a beating, fine metallic paste through everything,

should be fixable - Very hard to kill a 2JZ.

Just get it all ground to .20 thou and get everything properly cleaned!

Do the rings while you are in there - If you can't find 2JZ rings then use 3S-FE ones (same part, just 4 not 6 :P)

copper and iron results are pretty low for an engine that has spun a bearing you must have caught it reasonably early we normally expect to see 75 plus. the one that is confusing me is the Lead! it seems very high. maybe the sample wasn't taken with the oil at it's hottest. makes interesting reading anyway

good luck withy the rebuild.

i think we were very lucky with when we caught it,

having access to decent oil sampling definatly helps

ill be taking the block and head to work tomorrow and run them thru the acid tank.
going to send the crank and cams to machinists,
may as well get cams ground while its apart dont think adam will shell out for new race cams
