Apexi Coilovers

Postby Emperor » Mon Jan 26, 2009 9:02 pm

Quick question; Are Apex'i coilovers re-buildable? I've been offered a set for a good price, but they're well and truely shot... But if they can be re-sealed etc, i'll get them.

And Greddy also..

prob not

but then again depends what you mean...

you certainly could pull them apart and fit an insert, may have to mod them to do it. but then your looking at a bit of a spend there

Depending on the model, yes your Apexi coilovers can either be rebuilt or an insert put in them. I have rebuilt the N1 spec ones & the upper spec models the only hassle can be to get seals(Can get them from overseas easy as or modifying the housings to take something local), I have alo used the housings from these & fitted an insert inside them. I have no idea of seal costs etc as this is going back over a year ago & I'm no longer able to rebuild them as it's a total conflict of interest with my job & I don't have time due to motorsport commitments.

If you got the right person at Autolign/Racelign or talkednicely to Chris @ Supension Tech in East Tamaki yo might be able to get one of them to do it.

But basically if you need more than seals/shims/oil & gas your pretty much buggered. I had to make shafts for a set I did as you just can't buy them like you can for other stuff.

sometimes you cant tell until its apart.

if you can go to racelign, regan or simon should be the guys to talk to.
any one on the counter at autolign will prob order a bilstein insert.
