leaf springs, lowering (adding extra leaf)

Postby 79rolla » Tue Jan 27, 2009 12:39 pm

hey looking at how i am going to lower my ke30
i have some 2inch lowering blocks in my arts car that i am looking at getting cut down to just one inch, s i ave that sorted
but while i am doing this i also want to stiffen it u a bit, so was thinking i would just add another leaf.

my problem is i am not sure about this procedure, witch leaf is the best to dubble up? what do i do about the locator things (loops that stop the leaves from moving sideways at the end of each leaf) or do i need to buy a diferent length leaf??

you can get your leaf springs reset or flattend a guy on trademe was doing it a while ago it lowers them i think it also stiffens them try a harder rate of shocks in my escort i ended up with hard as hq holden shocks stiffend the arse end up nicely stopped a heep of body roll because the back ones were farked it had 2 inch blocks id recomend getting 1 inch blocks rather than modifying the 2 inch ones

getting springs reset is around the $140 mark ( thats what i paid at snells springs last time)

in my opinion worth it, from what i understand they can usually lower and retension them to suit your requirements
