IMO anyone wearing a hood and hat and/or having their drivers seat so reclined they cant see over the steering wheel should be ticketed for operating a vehicle in an unsafe manner.

It is pretty scary to think the general public is doing things like the guy in Blenheim, The silly thing is that alot of people with modified cars drive them normally and are considerate of the general public.

Ive seen alot of major safety items that have been errrrrr.... "missed" through a certain VTNZ testing station in wellington, their ads crack me up! "because we dont fix cars you know you're getting an honest opinion"

Having to prove Im within the law to a bunch of failed mechanics at the VTNZ is not my idea of fun. Because of the publics lack of perception and the media blowing a heap of stuff out of proportion, Im seen in the same light as a select few $&#$% by a large amount of the general population, and Im sure its the same with alot of people on here.

How has that changed since the recent media attention?? VTNZ have always been a bunch of pain in the buttocks muppets, that's why most people don't go there. My car is a lot louder than stock (as anyone who's heard a stock Soarer will agree with) and I haven't had a problem yet.

And by and large the general population is probably just as sick of hearing about it as we are, but they're too apathetic to worry about it, it's mainly the small group of people creating trouble, a small group kicking up a big fuss about it, with the police in the middle, probably playing a political game to get more funding or power to deal with situations beyond their control.

VTNZ are a pack of wankers. I'm running a a 3" HKS Silent Power exhaust to a 4" SP tip with a custom 3" downpipe on my GT4. It's loud, but not so loud as to be over the limit, yet VTNZ say it's too loud. Thankfully the guy who sold it to me got a warrant from his mechanic, but that mechanic is dodgy as he also warranted a wet cell in the boot with no ventilation which of course I'm going to fix.
