93 corolla 20v g/box q

Hi all,have a 93 corolla sprinter GT sedan, (5spd)it has a intermitient problem where it crunches into 3rd gear, can happen at any rpm and not all the time but is reasonably frequient. The car has done 155km and is 100% stock standard.

My question is what is the likley cause of this problem? clutch or worn 3rd gear syncro? or something else?

if it is a stuffed syncro is any ae101 fxgt 5spd gearbox compatable with this car? or are there any recomended gear oils/additives i could use in the box to help?
