Toyota Celica Brake Pad Recommendation

Hey all, I have a 96 SS3 Celica with the 3sge engine, and as my pads will need replacing in the next few months, I was wondering if someone could recommend me a brand that performs at least slightly better than the oem ones, without breaking the bank ;).

ill chuck this here as its more of a general bit of info rather than a tech question per say.

How ever in answer i would try 0800 brakes.

You supply your old pads they scrap what evers left over off the chuck on a compound you can afford, so they make something to your budget.

Dont forget to mention your a toyspeed member as unless im mistaken we still get a 15% discount to.

Hmm that sounds like a good option price/performance wise, however this is my daily and I don't have another car to use while that would be happening...

I think I've got stacks of unused TRD pads for SS3 Celica in the shed.
We used these on the rally car and always had a few spare sets. So the packaging will be a bit knocked around but the pads are new.

Why not try Toyota Genuine for every-day use I think under there general pricing structure you''ll get the fronts for about $60-$70.

I am not sure if GT4 OEM compound is different, but I never had any issue with lots of hard braking, it is great.

genuine pads are actually pretty good in my experience, and highly affordable at around $80 retail.

im sure you could get them for less from the guy on here that works at toyota parts.

unless you are hitting the track, expensive pads are overkill in my opinion, and could in fact be detrimental to braking performance as some compounds wont perform as well as stock pads when they are cold. (which = alot of the time on a road car)

Right, turns out Bendix only make 'ultimate' series pads for the rear of my car (weirdly) so as mix and matching doesn't sound too smart, I have acquired a full set of Bendix CT's from BNT for a very good price to see how these perform when compared to OEM pads.

Give BNT your money <3.
