why dont you look under the dash and see where the wire runs to?

Possibly because you will able to trace it for about 10cm before it goes into a loom bundled with other wires which makes it hard unless you want to pull the entire loom apart?

As someone said before, are there any of those light pole things that are supposed to raise on the corner of the bumpers?

nah, no light poles, spot lights are linked to another switch and no A/M parking sensors

I had the same switch in my 94 curren.
Its for parking sensors, I had them front and rear, rear came on automatically when you put the car into reverse and that switch was for the front one.
Perhaps the sensor has been taken out but not the switch/wiring?
