Wheel offsets - need help finding a spare!

Postby FXGTV » Fri Feb 20, 2009 12:19 pm

Hey guys, hoping you can help me on this one. I've spent a good hour trawling through the net, trying to find the offset of my standard 14" 4x100 wheels on my 2002 glxi Mitsi Lancer Wagon.

Reason i'm trying to find out is, i'm driving 3,500 ks next week and when I bought the Lancer it was missing the spare wheel. Will other 4x100 wheels from other cars fit? All of the wreckers in Darwin don't have any spares from a mitsi like mine  It is the offset that is going to be the problem i assume.

Thanks in advance,

Ryan.

hey ryan, within reason most 4x100 FWD rims will fit, the easiest way to be sure is to take a jack with you and do a quick test fit you will need to check the front, if the front goes then it will be fine, there are only a few vehciles where the rear wont go and yours is not one of them.

Thanks for that. I ended up doing exactly that down at the local wreckers. Managed to find one that pretty much fits, its just a little high and doesnt go all the way onto the hub.It still bolted on alright though. I took it for a drive and it seemed ok. I just didn't want to drive 3,500 kms in the desert without a spare

NO !!!!
if its not going all the way to the hub its probably off a toyota or daihatsu which have different hub location ring sizes , not all 4 x 100 are the same , get a mitsi one or a nissan one allthough that is too big for the hub location , but if its not sitting fully back on the rim it can come flying off :?
