AE101 Trueno electric window motor/mechanism

Postby ~SlideWays~ » Mon Mar 09, 2009 9:48 pm

Our Trueno's electric window crapped out today, it just made a big bang a slide down to its death.

I took off the door card and found that the cable to the top of the vertical rail has pulled itself out of the mounting point so there is nothing holding the window up anymore. This also caused the cable spool jobbie to get all tangled and its pretty much stuffed.

I tried dismantling the motor and winding the cable around again but then found its basicly impossible to reconnect the end of the 'top' cable to were its originally mounted. It looks like a throw away set up... in other words it looks like I need to replace the motor, cables and the vertical rail all as one piece.

Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

Also will there be any other corolla's with the same setup, im assuming probably not because others will have a slightly different doors shape etc?

Exact same thing happened to my ae101. You need the whole window regulator like this: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motor ... 820225.htm

I got mine from a random wrecker in auckland for $50

good luck finding one for that price these days. $125-150 is the going rate at the mo, they are getting harder and harder to find

Bang on. Rang a few places and they all said $125.

Luckily I found someone with a spare for $30 8) All back together - upping and downing.
