Rebuilding shocks

Postby cat007 » Mon Mar 16, 2009 4:51 pm

has anyone ever had any non-adjustable shocks rebuilt?

Thinking of getting my bilsteins rebuilt and wondering what the rebuild price is these days......

I don't think it's too much.. about $50 per shock, I've been looking up about it because I've been wanting to build my own Coil-overs (turns out a LOT cheaper, and you get better equipment than pre-built Brand-name coilovers!).

Maybe e-mail someone about it?
Cheers,
Brandon

autolign
you will find that they are understaffed at the moment due to one of the bilstein guys off on a honeymoon, but they are who you can talk too

the rebuild price is totally dependent on what needs doing, it however will definitely be more than $50. even just a simple revalve is $65+gst
its also possible they are not rebuildable, not all bilsteins are.
if they are an insert, which i suspect they are, then they will be.

Either andrew at the shock shop ,penrose.Or chris at suspension tech, east tamaki.Chris is a good dude and does my bilsteins. The only problem is that autolign have the sole rights to bilstein parts in nz and won't supply the competion.

Might give them a call - although there's apparently no reason to shorten shocks.....
