cabil to hydro cluch?

Postby 79rolla » Mon Mar 16, 2009 9:58 am

ok the new box (t50) going into my car is hydrolic, but he old k50 was cable

how hard is it to change it over on the fierwall? wat master cylender is best?

i know ill have to mount it lower then the pivit point on the cluch, but how far down does it need to be?

i was going to do it remotely with the cable and a hiace master cylender but looks like its going to be a headace!

also does anyone know what slave cylender i can use on a t50 - 3t bellhousing? had i got a hilux one with the same stud pattern but the bolts go on the wrong side (etther can mount it on wrong side of bolts or backtofrount:x :x :x )

would pay to reinforce the firewall around where the m/c is mounted.
current cars:
Evo 4 230Kw atw
1971 mini.
79 bugeye 245kw atw.
Evo powered mx5 under construction

mount your master cylinder on the bolts which are already in your firewall, just drill the hole out between them. you should be able to find a master cylinder which lines up with the holes perfectly. then you'll just need to attach it to the pedal - should be easy if it lines up with the hole properly. mine didn't, but i've seen some that do.

for the slave cylinder, what vehicles came with a t50 / 3t originally? find out, then go to repco/bnt/anywhere and get a slave cylinder for that vehicle.

sure is. I can even see them on your car.
have a look at this on the inside of the car, you'll see they line up almost directly with the pedal. and theres a hole in the interior trim I think... there was on mine anyway. just get a master cylinder which fits those bolts, should be one around. try an ae86 or ae82 m/cylinder, just something out of an old toyota.
