B16A into ae82 corolla

Postby EVL20V » Thu Mar 19, 2009 4:22 pm

 NO this is not my idea. My mate is doing this conversion for a laugh, as a track car. We have b16a engine loom box etc.

Corolla ae81 or ae82 sedan, was a 4a but that not relevant as its pulled out and axels removed, mounts removed. We have the b16a mounts and engine crossmember. What we want to know is how the axels / hubs can be sorted. I dont expect anyone to have done this swap. But would we need to use the da6 integra hubs with it? could get messy

Otherwise NZhondas might know

are DA6's macpherson strut? i don't think they are in which case the hubs wouldn't work without alot of modification.

you could get custom driveshaft that suit the b16 inner CV's and the ae8x outer CV's

yeah id start by looking amongst various toyota and honda cvs to see if you can come up with a combo that would work. failing that get some made up to do as suggested above

I reckon original toyota hubs & outer CV, honda inner CV, and custom shaft to join em.
You will no doubt need custom shafts anyway to get the correct length.

P.S. awesome idea :D

Yeah.. DA6s have weird upper wishbone suspension, tiny little shocks and springs. I'd just run your suspension, and do as above, get custom shafts made up.
