AW11 SC prices

Postby Sh0ckwave » Sun Mar 29, 2009 8:09 pm

I'm thinking about buying this aw11 sc, but not really sure how much its worth.

Its a 1988, 192,000km, new WOF.

repainted 3 or 4 years ago but looks like it was a cheap job. Also had accident repairs in the front and back.

A bit of rust in the rear wheel arches and a small patch above the windscreen.

Has pretty much no service history either

Lowered on cut springs :? certed, but one spring isn't captive.

What would you guys pay for it if you were in the market for one?

Probably $3k tops, sounds a bit rough.
1988 KE70 Wagon - Slowly rusting
1990 NA6 MX-5 - because reasons
2018 Ranger - Because workcar
1997 FD3S RX-7 Type R - all brap, all the time
OMG so shiny!

$1500-2k dont pay anymore more than that.
and be careful, that rust patch top of screen wil lprob be a little nasty... rust started there because the paint gets scratched when replacing the windscreen. so it will be rusty where u cant see it.
same for rear guards, look very carefully and make sure theres no rust internally
and check the accident repairs very very carefully, even scrape away some of the new sealant it any. mine had been repaired in the front and i had to remove all the sealant and clean up the rust that had started under it

I wouldn't be in a market for a car in that condition if it was the last car on earth 8O

Way too many bad things, find a better one :)

Probably not what you want to hear but basically just avoid cars like that.
Colour suits the car though.

+1 for that, I've had to do some extensive work due to someone doing rust repairs and using silicon to seal the seem. *sigh* rust galore :(

yeah...a "bit of rust"is a pretty dubious term when it comes to an aw - i'd make sure you're pretty careful checking whatever one you end up buying out eh

Yea, "A bit of rust" actually means "A bit of rust that you can SEE".....
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
