it was - same road - 5 mins apart and floored it from the same point.....

That is not very accurate at all.

I did it about 3 times each and the results were almost exactly the same each time

The ECU logs 10 times every second - so the "readings" are every time the ECU logs data (i.e. 10 times a second)

Without TVIS
Reading: 205 = 2003rpm @ 0.43PSI
Reading: 479 = 4225rpm @ 7.46PSI

With TVIS
Reading: 161 = 2098rpm @ 0.43PSI
Reading: 381 = 4234rpm @ 7.83PSI

So you're trying to tell us that it takes 27.4 seconds to go from ~2000-4200rpm without T-VIS and 22.0 seconds to go from ~2100-4200rpm with T-VIS, how steep was the hill???

Pretty steep - was in 3rd I think + I have a ridiculous amount of lag....

iOnic, Just took some photo's now. The reason I think it's a CT20B w/ a bigger comp wheel is that it's on a stock manifold, still a Toyota turbo but with no numbers (Unlike the 26 but same as the'20B') and the comp wheel is much bigger than both the 26 and any photos of '20B's' that I've seen with a different number of fins (Off memory). Also, the nut on the end doesn't look stock.

Full Photo:

Aside a CT26:

Slightly closer, can almost make out the marking on the wheel:

I'm yet to take the down pipe off to see the cond of the exh wheel, but it's making boost right throughout so I don't think that's it....

Any ideas? :? (Even on what the comp wheel might be!)

While it might be an upgraded CT20B it's more probable that it's an upgraded CT26. Not all CT26s have that on the casting and the CT20B is not the easiest of turbos to upgrade given it's smaller diameter shaft.

It certainly isn't one of the two Japanese modified CT20Bs. Both the Blitz K1-380v and the Power Enterprise PE1919T use different compressor wheels to the one in the photo.

What does the exhaust side look like? The shape of the wastegate flap and the number of mounting downpipe mounting studs should be a better clue as to it's origins.

Very interesting, off hand the exhaust studs are the same as a CT26, but will drop the downpipe off to look into it further.

ct20b should have 7 studs (instead of 6 on the ct26)

Slightly off topic here but does anyone know if a CT20b compressor wheel can be used as an upgrade on a CT26?
I ask because I have a CT20b compressor wheel and cover here.

Not true. I have two of them. One that was bought upgraded in my Red ST205. It's certainly different than my stock spare CT20B, and looks very similar the photo's above. It also resembles the second upgraded CT20B which I run in my, yet to be started, rally ST205. Both run, from my brutally damaged memory, a mislabled CT26 or a T04 wheel/shaft? I'm reasonably certain that when I went to rebuild my CT20B the upgraded wheel/shaft assy was the only option. Or possibly the only steel option I could use with "bang bang"

My God I need to go and play on that dust collecting device! I've forgotten half of what's in it.
The answer is Helmholtz!
