Do not put it in gear to do this test as most people do and think they have a lsd, of course both wheels will turn the same way! or how else would the car drive fowards.

That car did have one, I used to own it too.

To avoid opening a new thread.

The gearbox in my car seems to be very short...
1st gear = 30kph
2nd = 70
3rd = 110-120
Roughly 7000rpm for each change.
Does make for quick acceleration but cruising along at 100kph I'm doing nearly 4000rpm in 5th. Also have to change gears more often. I think the car would be faster if it had longer gears, definitely has the torque to go through longer ratios.
I remember on my old blacktop 1st gear was like 70 or 80kph at over 8000rpm...hur
edit, forgot the question:
Which gearbox would I most likely have?

Very short! My GTZ will be almost off the clock (180) at the end of 3rd at 7800rpm-ish.

Can't be a standard 4age box either because our standard ae101 does 3000rpm at 100k.

Old ae86 did 3700rpm@100kph though, but that was with 4.3:1 diff.

Ive just emailed the bloke that sold the car to me, see what gearbox is in it. Im very curious now. It may not be standard, but its been able to withstand pretty much 7 months of abuse which includes many drag runs, probably 30 drag races and each time I've warmed up the tyres very nicely. Yay for weekend drag venues. Costs only $28 to race too, worth every cent!
But at the end of the drag strip, im finding myself at the end of 4th gear, about to change into 5th...so really short gears, and I'm only doing about 95mph at the end of it.

This is exactly like my car 3700-3800rpm at 100kph.
Lucky i only drive around town cause the exhaust noise at that speed is nauseating .
