Does anybody have any hookups at RaceBrakes?

Postby cat007 » Sun Apr 05, 2009 8:51 pm

I need to get some decent fluid seeing as my last litre got destroyed/wasted by a broken master cylinder that aerated the whole lot....

Cheers

Could do - is it better than the penrite race stuff?

How about the castrol race fluid? Anyone used that stuff?

Not sure as haven't used the penrite stuff,

but about 1/2 the class I race in run the Motul,

Take note though, the 660 is about double the price of the 600,
for a little bit better.

I have gone back to the 600 in my car.

Dont know? Who pays retail, lol.

Think that is a bit over priced at $34

I think we pay about that for the 660,
and about 17 to 25 for that one.

Can find out tomorrow, but so can you probably,
Just ring BNT and ask.

Motul 600
You can get straight from the NZ dealer. Give them a call and see what the guy says.
They are out in Howick.

They wanted $33.50 per bottle.....and would cost me more than $4 gas to go get it lol

I'll try BNT and then trade parts - although I remember the trade parts guy trying to sell me endless pads for like $400 even though I just told him I've bought 1166's for $350 - he kept going ON AND ON about the endless pads. To the point I was getting angry at him lol

Endless pads are better. They last longer, stop better, and make less dust :), I'm running some $700 endless pads, they are awesome! I got them for $40 off my dads mate cos they were too squeeky for his liking lol.
They stop when cold, they stop when hot, they basically feel the same no matter what temperature.

you'll find that there is only about 4-5 places worldwide that manufacture the 660deg brake fluid hence the reason that it all comes in the same shape/size bottle with a different label. I've generally run the Motul RBF660 think I get for under $27 a bottle but not sure, the penrite stuff works as well most of the NZV8Ute guys run it as they get it free as part of the Penrite sponsorship. The Wilwood/AP stuff is much the same. I've run Castrol SRF at $125 a bottle in some stuff but in the v8 tourer's &
BMW mini's most people have gone back to motul etc as it seems to perform better & handle the heat better not too mention it's cheaper.
