Nothing wrong with Stewards decisions being overturned on appeal.

You should never ever let a steward think that they are the final word on anything.

I think Mclaren need to start looking for fellow compeitors to help start up the breakaway series rumours again.

Obviously the FIA can't have a situation where an upstart (Brawn) wins and the favourite (Ferarri) get no points while that pesky Mclaren get a good placing by luck, so lets have a closed meeting and decide to exclude them, then at least Ferrari have a chance of winning the championship again, and heck in a few weeks lets decide those annoying trick spoilers are illegal, and those annoying upstart teams will be excluded from the first races.

Can't have the apple cart upset now can we.

From what I understand Trulli fell of the track, Mclaren were unsure if they had to let him back past so told Hamilton to let him past. After the race the stewards ruled Trulli wasn't allowed to pass Hamilton, so penalised him. Then Toyota kicked up a fuss, the FIA looked into it agin and found Hamilton was told to let him back past, and then decided he should be disqualified for not telling them this. Seems a pretty harsh punishment for something no one was really sure of, surely a fairer punishment would of been to leave it as it was at the end of the race, and say in future this is how it will be.

They specifically asked lewis and his engineer if he had been instructed to let Trulli past, they both said no - Hamilton even made up a story that he slowed down, not to let Trulli back past again, but to read the safety car instructions on his screen, which has been proven to be a blatant lie. (Hamilton had slowed down to 15mph at one stage when the team instructed him to let Trulli past).

In the radio transcripts Mclaren told him to let Trulli past, and Hamilton stated the same facts in interviews directly before the stewards enquiry.

I won't be surprised if they are penalised further.

Um I do believe Ferrari actually won the constructors championship last year and I don't really think the FIA helped them win that..

I do wonder though how they reckon Hamilton deliberately misled officials surely they could have looked back at the so called deception here on film or on a replay somewhere.

So all you guys who think this is all a hate Mclaren thing,if Brawn happen to win it all is that the FIA's fault aswell because the way the Brawn GP team have used the rules to there advantage.I am actually going to enjoy this season as its wide open you can't take anything for granted which is a good thing. There is at the moment with Brawn GP a proverbial spanner in the works.I like I'm sure everyone else on here was not expecting that a ex-Honda car winning the 09 Aus GP and now there are a legit 5 teams that if things go there way that can win which I think is really good for F1.I like Ferrari and Kimi's my guy but if they don't pull it round quickly I can see Ferrari really struggling this year and they are battling with reliability problems and still can't qualify well they'll have alot of problems just for the fact there is more competition on the grid which for me is all good.

The more and more I read for alot of you if Mclaren are'nt winning its the FIA's fault its always something not that the other teams are just doing a better job...

Ha when Toyota was cheating in the WRC everyone just accepted it, they were being sneaky and got busted. When McLaren get busted doing stuff the FIA have it out for them! If they made a mistake in letting Trulli back past you don't cover for it by making up blatant lies. How can you not penalise them for that. The fact that McLaren have suspended their sporting director is an admission that lying was not a good idea. Lets all move on to the next race now. I think it will just make it more exciting if the "top" drivers and teams have points to make up.

Well that race was a bit fail, more incompetency from the FIA. Good to see Button getting his second win, go Brawn!. Another good result for Toyota as well with 2nd and 4th :D . I did enjoy the first half though, mass tactics on tire choices 8).

Lol edit Glock now third, apparently calculating the exact moment the red flag was shown relative to the positions of the drivers :?

Nice one Bernie... Let's start the race late in the afternoon in a tropical country where it normally rains about 5-6pm, just so Bernie can get more money and keep the f**king European viewers happy, who give a toss about the racing

Don't know, don't have Sky, so I spent a lot of time searching the net for a live stream, found a Latvian one on TVU but it had no commentary... That short arsed money grubbing bastard must be employing an army of people to find and shut them down, just so he can make more money.

I still can't believe how uncompetitive Ferrari and Mclaren are they are a fair way behind and don't look like they are close at the moment.

Agreed with Toyota they are really doing well at the moment and have consistency to boot.To me it looks like the Brawn RBR and Toyota have more mid corner grip than Ferrari and Mclaren but still I can't believe how far the top 2 teams from last year have fallen.

As for the desperation of Ferrari throwing Kimi out there with full wets in still a dry tyre condition makes me think how frustrated and desperate Ferrari were.

That ws to be expected because of last year's championship. They lost about 2-3 months of testing and development on the 2009 car so they were always going to be slow off the mark.

Ferrari are a lot closer in practice and qualifying than McLaren, but they don't seem to be able to get it together in the race. OTOH McLaren have a terrible car in qualifying but a reasonable race car, well at least in Hamiltons hands, can't say what Kovalainen is like because he hasn't completed more than two race laps

Mclaren's lack of qualifying pace looks to be due to not being able to generate the heat in the tyres and not enough downforce in the high speed corners, which probably contributes to the tyre warming problem. I know the haters will disagree but, IMHO, their race pace can be put down to one thing, Hamilton's superior driving skills.

Ferrari's problems seem to be down to poor management, they could easily have qualified both cars in the top ten, but stuffed up Massa by trying to save an extra set of the soft compound tyres. Kimi's choice to go on to wets was a gamble that, if it had worked, would have been excellent strategy, but somebody obviously doesn't know how to read a rain radar properly and they obviously didn't have spotters in the right place to tell them when it was going to rain hard enoungh for full wets :?

I agree Hamilton does get the most out of a car that just is not on the pace so yes this has alot to do with driving skill.

Ferrari to me are showing desperation already this is the 2nd race where through either poor stratergy management and reliability they just don't seem to have the right answers in given situations which for a Ferrari fan I find very strange.

As for losing 2 months of testing well I would not have expected teams like Ferrari and Mclaren still to be that far off the pace regardless because at the moment they look decidedly average.
