BC's are pretty decent by all accounts, but like anything you get what you pay for.
Why do you specifically want coilovers? A good shock and spring setup will work plenty for the average person.

im afraid TEIN is out of your budget if your looking at >$2000
but if you could, TEIN flex would be the ones

or you could get some Bilstein or Konis made up
that would be my preferred choice. dont forget maintenance, being able to rebuild, repair and revalve is a big plus rather than having to fork out for new inserts or even complete units

i would snap those TEINs up, they have just had massive price rises and they will not be that price for a while i would say

seeing as your in wellington i can sort you out on bilsteins, go see ron at total performance for konis

dont think driven will still have them at that price as they are brought locally from autolign so will be affected by the price rises.

All the pricing on car stuff has seen a lot of increases over the last 12 months as the exhcange rates are not as favourable as they were before

i would go for the ISC ones that bazda was selling, they've been proven on the track, and they're cheap for what what they are.

The off the shelf ISC are ok, but dont fit up 100%.

The ones I was selling had modifications I had organised with the factory to suit my car and track racing, but I dont have any left now.

To get a one off set, I could prob get them for around $1500-$1600

I have a set of BC's in my corolla and with 6kg/4kg springs its pretty firm for the street (infact certifier wasn't going to pass it due to the hardness). But were cheap (under $1500 brand new).

thats odd, i have 8kg front and 6kg rear and its actually pretty nice on the street. certifier wasn't worried at all about the stiffness. different brand shocks though i guess

a lot of those cheap kits like d2s and bcs come with stuipidly stiff springs and very stiff shocks. we supply a lot of springs to ppl who bought some and found them undrivable on the road.
i think som eppl thinking they can use the "race" kits on the road are a little optimistic!
soft springs stiff shocks, mr chapman had it right 8)

The ISC ones are really stiff, some guys I sold to in NZ couldn't get their certs with this rate. So went and got some softer springs.
Neil Fraser is fine with the stiffness though.
Depends on who certifies your car.

BC supposidly have street and race versions. I personally wouldn't want to use the race version on the street. But i'm happy with the set i got. Better than the compressed springs the car came with. And with the shocks set to soft it anit too bad. NILPSI came for a ride and thought they were alright
