If you run engine flush you will shake so much crap loose that you will
block the pickup and galleries. Cheap oil just acts like a weak solvent
and breaks the crap down gradually.

agreed, whats the harm in 2 $28 oil changes. see what happens.
when i looked at a 20v ae101 for lisa about 4 years back it had the same sludge build up. we didnt end up buying it for that one reason.
it possibly wouldve been alright, but the guy wasnt prepared to drop his price to suit.
