yeah not in this state of economy.
i've got two mec friends facing redundancy soon. and im not sure john key is pushing for more apprenticeship funding. was it him who said it should of been cut from the budget? or was it him wanting more, i cant remember. anyway keep looking.
oh i just read up. he is pushing for more apprenticeships but it seems to be focused in south Auckland

d1mule, is it you who has a mate who works at mace engineering?

go around the more successful private workshops
dont know what its like down there, but up here the good ones are flat out! while all the franchise dealers are laying off staff.
a busy local garage may take on a b1tch to help with the over flow, a few here have done it recently. but yeah you will be the first to go if they need to loose ppl

Same here, and in saying that, they're too busy to teach an apprentice

just make sure when you go to places that you look the part
and that means look the part to the boss.... so if you dress like an emo or baggy pants hoodrat then maybe you should dress up for a day

i have seen some ppl wander in looking for work looking.... rather undesirable!

i cant stress that enough im leaving my job in retail management but god some of the people i interviewed dont turn up in black jeans and a leather jacket hell i went to job interview last month for a jr position wearing a shirt dress pants and shiny dress shoes it impresses people that you are willing to make an effort and guess what i got that job based on i have the skills and i was one of the few who impressed the interviewer with my dress and bearing also be confident when they talk to you in the interview be able to think on the spot for instance i got asked where id like to be in 10 years things like that
