Stopping rubbing of mags

Well some of you may realise that i am trying to sell my mags in favour of some 15" lightweight mags, probably rays volk (near to 4kg per) to try and get a bit better performance.
But the main reason i want to change is because when i have people in the back or take a bumpy corner (or both) then the wheels rub against the car somewhere.

I like the mags but dont like the rub. The car has had one form of lowering or another (not sure) and the front ones dont bother me, but the rear ones are quite annoying.

If someone that knew a bit about the subject was willing to help me that would be great, and i would appreciate it to the tune of some beers. Basically we would need to find out how the car was lowered, and how to remedy it, i dont mind it sitting higher so long as there is no rub (even with a load on)

Oh btw the car is an ae101 rolla wagon and the wheels are 18x7 with 42 offset (i think) the wheels are 35 series.

could be a number of things really:

1./ offset is il matched for the car "ie" you can get away with a 42 offset at the front but may require a 35 or 38 offset in the rear to avoid the gaurd rub

2./ tyres may be too wide for the vehicle, if they are a 205 then the problem will be un avoidable, you could possibly get away with having the rear gaurds pro rolled to gain the extra clearance.

3./ car could generally be lowered too much - but by the sounds of it this isnt the case.

im selling a set of 16" lightweight wheels (near new tyres also) off my carib ae111 due to upgrading, these have alternate offsets to suit fwd so i doubt they would rub as mines currently lowered on tein adjustibles which did not cause any issues - well something to think about anyways
