Certification Price / Place

Postby TazzieDevil » Fri May 01, 2009 3:10 pm

Hi peeps.

So im working towards getting my 4WS removed from my Celica and replaced, as I don't want to have to go through the hassles of fixing the 4WS again if it stuffs up.

So i've looked around and not found much in regards to pricing of Certifications, does it depend on what was done? ie charged more if you have more mods that require certification? or is it based on how long they take to check over the car for various things?

Any suggestions on places to go / contact in regards to getting Certification in Wellington?

Cheers

My understanding is that it's a fixed amount ie same price to get coilovers certed as getting coilovers/seats/brakes/.... When i got my cert earlier this year it was $550 (done in palmy).

Yeah it depends who you go to as to how much it'll cost, but its the same cost regardless of how many or how few things you get done.
Might as well do a turbo engine swap while you're at it Chris, make it worthwhile ;)

Ken McAdam - Lower Hutt Vehicle Compliance = 0276744811

Took a friends car that i had done a few mods to there. Had my Race car done there. so did Neil and his Race Car much more recently than me. Will be taking my Altezza there when i've finished monkeying with it. Much more reliable and better service than Andy Ward in my personal experience.

Cost = $450. Flat cost for all LVV inspections (obviously exhaust noise testing falls outside that) so its in your back pockets best interests to mod everything you are going to want to and have it certed in one go.

Well I would call Andy Ward (Phone No. to come).

I wouldn't let Ken cert my Lawnmower - he as a very backwards way of doing things. He will mess you around and cost you more time and money.

Then again I hear the same regarding Andy due to his health problems...

Certing the racecar for the 3rd time wasn't toooo much of a hastle, still cost me two days off work in the end
