Driving into work the last couple of weeks I have noticed a cargo ship in the Wellington Harbour that looks kinda like....

Does anyone know why its just sitting out there??
Like its not docking or nothing its just hanging out in the harbour.

It does look like that one but it doesn't seem to be a container ship. The deck is white and has pipes running all over it.

I want to know what it is doing out there too.

that cable runs from cable bay off the south west coast, not the middle of the harbour :wink:

possibly why they have been there so long, they cant find it!

The niwa boat was tied up in Miramar for about a month recently / they do ultrasounding and thus may be related?

or could this be to do with the new cable to Aussie?

I think that'd be too close to land for qaurentine.

I also think its highly likely to be zombies. Good thing my zombie-proof fence(err, I mean value adding property addition) will be finished today.

sounds like one i saw there a while back
iirc it was a gas processing ship or gas haulage ship, cant remember exactly which. it was tied up where the cruise liners tie up and i googled the name.

it would be waiting.... possibly for the gas field where its going to be ready for it.
used to see ships waiting off nelson quite a bit, waiting for their loads to be ready, or if they need parts for them to arrive. cant just go to repco to get bits for them
