Are they up to nz specs? As in getting a warrent at the local testing station without a cert?

Anyone have any ideas?

There is nothing actually in the VIRM saying aftermarket hoses need anything other than to meet the in service requirements. Which means they have to work, not leak, not show signs of deterioration and have the right fittings basically.

You may have to get a few twitchy testers to check their VIRM, but they're fine as HRT said

I've got some of these for my AE92 FXGT. The car will need a cert anyway, but was wondering if they are legal without one.

they used to come with nz cert tabs on them ..

ive had no problems with mine being picked up - they have the yellow tab needed , and the fronts were custom made ones from racebrakes..

according to the virm they are legal as long as the ends of the hoses can't be undone by hand tools. (17g and note 3 in the virm)

17. A flexible hydraulic brake hose (including connections):
a) is leaking brake fluid, or
b) is insecure, or
c) bulges under pressure, or
d) is twisted, stretched, chafed or
e) external sheathing is cracked to the extent that the reinforcing cords are exposed, or
f) has metal connections that are excessively corroded, or
***g) has an end fitting that is not attached to the hose by means of swaging, machine crimping or a similar process (Note 3).
