Mount compatability

Postby TRD_ZERO » Sun May 10, 2009 11:39 am

Ive just dropped my 4age with e58 gearbox into my ae111 ive bolted up the front engine mount and the rear gearbox mount. Now it seems the front gearbox mount doesnt really line up. I havent got the bits or bolted up the top gearbox mount yet.

So my question is do the brackets from the e58 line up and bolt to the mounts of the c56. They are different gearboxes so they might not work, should i be using the c56 brackets?

you will need the E series front and top G/box bracketry to make it line up.

Ive got the front bracket on at the moment but it sits to the left by about 25mm. The whole engine looks to be sitting skew. I might have to wait and try that top gearbox mount, might straighten things up abit. So basically i use the e58 bracketry with the c56 mounts and that should all bolt up just fine?

I got it sorted just one more question the front engine mount has an arrow on the top of it. Is the arrow supposed to point to the fron of the car or towards the gearbox??
