Not really answering my question is it? The engine is going to produce a fair bit more power than the original one, buying a new one might have the same end result and tear. They look crappy and flimsy and i think a solid mount would be more suitable.

I'm thinking about making one with time-ex PRC from work.
If that doesn't work, then I'll get some urethaned.

Supercheap or maybe bunnings

When my mate did it before his warrant he just filled it in and let it dry for a day, im not sure how its actually supposed to be done, but this worked for us

Either get a new mount or get the old one out and done properly. Window silicone is not the way to do it at all

haha, window silicon is a terrible idea. The stuff that some people use is the urethane cement used for holding windscreens in, not the same as silicon. Otherwise, buy some decent 2 part urethane to pour into it, or get autolign to do it

i've heard of people using the sikaflex stuff to do it with, but only ever lasted as a temp measure. as in only lasting 6 months with a good run. at the end of the day windscreen sealant is made to seal windows..

if you're worried about breaking standard mounts take your old one to plus plastics in east tamaki, it will take plently of power after they urathane it. last time i checked it was only $50 for them to do it, but has proberly gone up.

fill it with windscreen URATHANE and then still it back to front - assuming its the front or rear mount that way the factory rubber will take more of the movement

the front and rear mounts on ae101s and 111s dont do that much...
they are dampers for the fore-aft movement of the engine.
so you dont really need to urethane them.
although it has been said that soild mounts help transfer a little more torque through the drivetrain.

personally, i dont think they need to be strengthed for anything
BUT, if you do urethane it, do both as they work in pairs

Dont use any over the counter / single tube urethane types to fill the mounts. It will never set

Search for my old posts on this matter.

I got my mounts (new ones) filled by Thorndon Rubber here in welly for about $30-40 each).

Find a local place that fixes rollers / machine rollers as they will be mixing urethane to different shore ratings (nolethane is around 80 shore).
