Toyota Voltz

Postby 91 ZERO » Tue May 12, 2009 3:38 pm

Just had a customer that is about to buy one of these and was querying parts. Was of particular interest as it has the same 2ZZGE engine as my car, and also has the six speed box.

Manufactured in America, marketed in Japan.

Anyone have one? Ar ethere many around?

but curtailed after a disappointing sales volume of just over 10,000 units

that would concern me.
as well as this:

Voltz was produced alongside the Pontiac Vibe in Fremont, California, in the United States by NUMMI (New United Motor Manufacturing, Inc), a joint venture between General Motors and Toyota. This vehicle is known as the Pontiac Vibe (itself a version of the Toyota Matrix) in North America. The Vibe was exported to the Japanese market (with minor badging changes and right-hand drive configuration) as the Toyota Voltz.

hmmm cavalier? uhoh........

it will be better than a cavalemon as it appears to have a toyota drive train, but possibly American designed body... and built in the usa

Isnt the pontiac Vibe just a corolla wagon? And the Toyota Matrix is a corolla.

nope
based on corolla floor pan, but that doest mean a lot
i mean the RAV4 was based on a corona....

and the matrix etc body is completely different.
i would not be at all surprised to find that only the engine and gearbox shares parts with corollas

some one ask toyota how much a new tail lamp, grille and bumper would be for one!
