PHotos Of Caldina GTT with Tein S-Spec springs

hey guys,

just after some photos of caldinas lowered with tein s-spec springs to see what sort of drop I can expect. I know the specs say 38mm (r) and 45mm (f) but springs always sag and drop more then manufacturers says.

So if anyone can help out that would be great.

haha im getting mine lowered tomorrow with the same springs i think :D

looking to buy the springs from either trademe or driven performance within the next couple of weeks.

ah nice can't complain about that then, you putting them in yourself, or getting a workshop to do it?

Mine's on s-specs. TBH I'd say 35-45mm is generous.. it's nowhere near as low as it was on dobis heh, but does ride very nicely now. I don't think I"ve taken any pics since I put them in tho.

So you could tell the difference between the dobis and the teins then?

I have seen the dobis and they are quite a bit cheaper.. but id imagine would be Chinese/Taiwanese made..

Yes, huge difference. I believe Tein actually test their springs on each individual cars, rather than just mass producing a spring and allocating it to as many different cars as possible (eg King, Dobi).

This is on Dobi springs - looked nice but the ride was crap:

Actually, Dobis are made in Aus :)

yep

and funnily enough, there are bugger all part numbers that crossover to other cars.

that doesnt mean they are as good as TEINs though :P

yeh i think I will definitely be getting the teins in soft.

after exchange rates and including shipping they will cost me ~$350 AUD, and for that price im quite sure even king springs are more expensive locally.

hey mate i suggest you go for medium

my st191 is sitting on medium spring it is just the perfect combination

thats a 191 one though, different springs and different rates
st191 "medium" rates are: 4kg and 3kg rear
the st215 "softs" are 3.9fr and 3.5 rear.
the "mediums" are 5.5 and 5.1
quite a lot stiffer, and probably too stiff for a lot of ppl
note the "softs" are still stiffer than stock
