I imagine the fine print will be guaranteed forever against manufacturer defects and will not cover abuse eg doubling up spanners (I have yet to see any spanner break from this though, they would have to be super shit)

I plan on getting a set and cutting all the open ends off then welding them together in pairs. Cheap way of getting long handled ring spanners... for those hard to reach places

What a joke that is

I've gone there for a car charger + other crap and found it 50% cheaper at kmart... needless to say I went back to bunnings with the charger an got my 15% off the price match and will not trust them again for "lowest price guaranteed" false advertising if you ask me.

Really means SFA as the price of the charger is still 50% more than Kmart. The charger wasn't on special either, just standard price.

/bunnings rant.

Kmart disturb me. They have Mobil 1 for like $10 cheaper than supercheap auto, who are like $10 cheaper than Mobil are. The world is crazy :D

FYI "lifetime guarantee" lasts for as long as the product is current i.e the "lifetime" of the product. Obviously, if they no longer make the same thing they can't do a direct replacement.

Bunnings is gay, you guys should be supporting locally owned smaller businesses :P .

No, you're right they're imported tools but there are a lot of locally owned businesses that sell these products as well. Whereas Bunnings, Kmart etc are all offshore owned enterprises and are starting to kill off the smaller places...

More like the smaller franchise tool places, powertool shops and engineering suppliers that have good knowledge and remember you when you come back. The Toolshed, Powertool centres, Techweld, Bay engineers supplies and other places like that.

Also, bunnings aren't always the cheapest. A lot of their accessories are overpriced to make their margin, and they lure you in with the specials and the 15% guarantee thing.

$50 at Mitre10 Upper Hutt. CBF asking at Bunnings Naenae. I call pricing error.

Price match - 15% only works for local stores.

At least botany downs, so if your local one in auckland doesn't have the deal, get them to do the pricematch guarantee :)
