My work van is 5-8km/h slower than the speedo reads @ 50km/h.

Do you have factory sized (overall) wheels?

not enough to worry about, unless you want to change your tyre size.

Robinson Instruments in Auckland can do it

If you give them how much out it is and what fittings they should use - and what car its for - they can make you a step down/up box

i was lead to believe that it was a simple-ish case of telling the technicians what percentage it is out, and they adjust the counterweights and springs in the speedo head??
Matt Dunn would far more versed on the subject, as he deals with Parrots far more often than we do.

you can get the kit from jaycar. http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=KC5435&keywords=speedo&form=KEYWORD
adjust to the desired percentage you want. but in your case, error is not linear so i guess just adjust it to speed you want it most accurate.
