VVT

The oil pressure switch is the one you can see lower in the picture, with the yellow wire.

It is vvt solenoid. Which could be called oil pressure switch as it switches on the oil pressure ;) for VVT pulley (being a smartass here).

are you sure it is leaking out of the wires?
perhaps it is O-ring that is bust.
Replace the O-ring anyway with a new item.

P.S. 20Vs are VVT only no "i" in there.

it is activated by the ecu

vvt is on off switched by the ecu, so when it wants to advance, it switches on. when is advanced, its all the way advanced not just a little bit

vvti is infinitely variable, so has a map in the ecu that works out how far advanced the cam needs to be based upon the values in the table (cant remember what it is, but i think it is throttle position and rpm) at various points.

i'll prob get shot to pieces, but that's a high level view on how it works

nick - sorry dude, i dont have any spare .

its got a new o-ring in it, and abit of goo around it. it is definatly coming up through the wires as when you take the plug off it is oily in there.

vvt it is, too much iphone and ipod recently, ps, iphones dont like washing machines.......

cognet, is the silver top vvt soloniod the same as the black top one?

ae111 blacktop part number for that switch is 15330-16020
ae101 silvertop part number is 15330-16010

So different part numbers but doesn't confirm as to whether they're interchangeable
