My partner loves driving my RX7.. And she can parallel park better than most guys I know - hence why I don't mind her driving my car

The 'mrs' here

1 up for Donna!!

This thread is a tad rude... I could lap taupo faster than some of you boys  Ive driven a safari, landcruiser, supra, ke25, hilux, carib.. etc and I would put money on there being just as many bad and unconfident male drivers out there. Ive been known to show up males at motorkhana/grasskhanas with my handbrakey skills too. Take that into consideration next time you think 'ohh f** its a female driver'

agree
we have an agreement now
we dont take donna racing, kart racing or fishing

she wins everything, lol

its a great feeling ( also very $&#$% horrifying ) watching your loved one fang down the pit straight apex the corner and get the back end out, with lots of counter stear

underestimation is a bitch, and most if not all males cant handle it

that sort of attitude (that most of people have here) makes your female parters screw up. If you approach them with "you can do it" attitude, they certainly will try harder. Same thing happens in schools, they say girls are not good at maths, so they give up, while in reality every one can be good at science, it is just the attitude and encouragement.

Just teach them how to drive properly with right attitude, and you will have win-win situation.

One day some one will injure themselves and will not be able to drive back, you will be glad that you taught your partner to do it...

totally agree, i encourage my wife to drive all my cars, and she loves driving her 200kw aristo just the same as i do. i taught my ex to drive, and she went from not even knowing how to drive manual, to being able to launch it and handle herself round corners, quite often she'd go out to country back roads just for a fang. saying the right thing at the right time can really give them a boost to their confidence.

Ha - my ex complained about the handling of the falcon wagon we had (for towing racecar and horsefloat). She would drive out to where she kept her horse every day.
She says "hey, on one corner the falcon always seems to turn more than I want and I have to reduce how much I turn the steering wheel"
I'm like "wow, ok, I will take it for a drive around the same corner to see what it is doing"
Drive around the corner fairly fast... nothing
Try again 10kph faster... nothing
Try again another 10kph faster... nothing
Try again ANOTHER 10kph faster!!!

AHA - a BIG dose of roll oversteer from the lovely leaf spring rear suspension.
I really had to throw it really hard into the corner to make it do it!

I go back and tell her how fast I had to drive around that corner to make it handle like that.
She says "oh yeah, I always take that corner at that speed or a bit faster"
Awesome!

Ken
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

My girlfriends car is hotter than mine...

Sometimes she lets me drive it if I'm a really good boy.

But I'm never allowed to get the tail out :(

And she's insisting on driving the Soarer when it runs.

not to impressed on this topic.

ive never had an accident or prang/ding or anything else in any car ive driven while i was driving or because of my actions. and every single guy ive been with has crashed a car.

so dont just assume that just coz a person is female shes gonna be a useless driver.

lol I've never pranged a car either, I put it down to a) my parents teaching me to drive in 6 different cars b) driving all of my guy mates cars and c) doing a defensive driving course (skids in my bosses company car woooo). If your Mrs is uneducated, then be gracious and educate her
