Police crackdown in Feliding

Postby Elmendorf » Wed Aug 12, 2009 7:31 pm

Just a heads up Manawatu people, the police in Feilding are not so friendly towards modified cars at present. They are cracking down on any slightly modified vehicles and stopping every one they see. Apparently "boyracers" and hoons from outside of Feilding are making their presence felt on the streets here and the cops have had enough.

I got stopped on Friday morning by a cop who went out of his way to stop me. I wasn't doing anything illegal, I wasn't boosting the car, hell the bov didn't even go off, but he stopped me. Gave his opinion on how loud my car is asked if it had been tested, checked my WOF and rego and my license. Couldn't ping me for anything so let me go. It seems to be one cop in particular and hes not always in a marked car either.

So make sure you have your license on you when you are over this way and keep an eye out for a bald, buck toothed cop with a vendetta against modified cars 8)

You guys had run-in's with the Ranga prick that patrols SH1 between Sanson and Foxton?

Never hear anything good about the cops down there!

haha nup don't go that way so haven't seen him as yet. :D

1I1 yep i found being polite worked wonders since he couldn't ping me for anything. I think if I'd been arrogant etc to him he would have done me for noise just cos he could.

Yestersday i was heading to Palmy during my lunchbreak and just out past the 100km sign heading towards bunnythorpe there was what looked like a legacy, it had been boxed in by 3 cop cars and the driver was sitting on the side of the road hands behind his back and his car was all open (doors, boot, bonnet).

Weird thing is that an hour later on my way back to work he was still there :?

Probably something a bit more serious though i would say

Surprised they didn't chase you instead Sam! - Its quite common to see cops out that way. Watching for people not stopping at the stop sign at the end of camerons line.

I think it was one of the last times i got pulled over i did this and started talking to the cop about old cars etc. He was piece of cake to deal with, just have to show them some respect - they are doing what we pay them to.

There was an article in one of the papers not so long ago regarding racing/burnouts/skids etc on the country roads just out of town (don't know where specifically). I didn't think it was a 'major' problem in town, but as the old man pointed out - it's quite common to hear cars ""caning"" it at night as they get to the outskirts of town on their way out. And it's true, i do often hear cars with noisy exhausts on kimbolton road, pharyzen street etc.

I was awake and heard them. Not sure what they were but I just shrugged them off haha. What part of Feilding are you in? They weren't tooo loud but definitely noticed them here (near the high school)

going back a couple of years I had a great run in with some jumped up little Irish git in Foxton.

He pulled me over for 'going too slowly' in a late model Corolla towing a small trailer.

I had in fact been doing 5k over the speed limit the whole way since Wellington.

The conversation started off amicably enough, but then pretty much got to the 'write me a ticket and then I will see you court' stage because he wasted my time and threatened me with various charges and offences for 20 minutes.

Through great restraint 'suck my cock' was not used by me, though I was thinking it
