Just for some more comparison although we all know mitis make more power that toyotas..

http://www.msport.co.nz/viewtopic.php?t=144

90% of people I know quote wheel torque. Matt do you mean divide by the gear ratio its done in? or the gearbox final drive?

Mine was run in 4th gear and the ratio is 1.107:1 the final drive is 4.4:1

hahaha so thats a no then? There are plenty of trackdays @ Ruapuna throughout the year.. I raced april and may..

I'm sure myself or a few other's would love to get a few laps in with some toyotas. Does anyone here apart from matt race circuit?

no, not at all

its a: I don't give a rats arse about dyno plots as they only show part of the picture and are an incredibly narrow minded and inaccurate way to compare cars :P

besides, a 500hp honda is still a honda :P

but seriously, those ZZE123's can be tweaked ok, not a bad car 8)

Then 90% of people you know don't know what they're torquing about ;)

Mine was run in 4th gear and the ratio is 1.107:1 the final drive is 4.4:1

So the motor only put's out 96nm at the crank?

Sounds a bit low, even for a Honda especially seeing as putting out 180nm at your quoted HP/RPM.

Something is wrong with your figures there :?

Oh I still love this forum, pity the chch members arent as prominent as what it used to be.

Back to the topic of dyno's please keep us all updated with progress :) Good to see someone else spending some decent coin the right way..

Nothing else no, it compares on the same level of engine at the 3 dyno days ive been to..

Whats the factory torque figure on a 2ZZ-GE seeing that would be fairly comparable?

Would you like to see a chart and try make sense of it then? Have a look on the NZH thread posted above and you'll prob find all of them dont make much sense

My mates 1600 civic ran 151wkw @ 8600rpm & 376nm @ 5500rpm

I just realised it's a Torque Performance dyno plot, so the numbers are meaningless unless you're comparing them to another Torque Performance dyno plot, or know the magical conversion factor to convert to actual torque

If you're using that torque figure to compare cars then it's a pointless exercise.

From what I can see Torque performance "Torque ATW" figures are actually the torque the roller is exerting which is the used along with the roller RPM to calculate HP.

If the size of the roller is changed then the "Torque" figure would also change, so you're not able to determine what the car is putting out at the wheels from the quoted torque figure. You can work backwards from the RPM & HP figures though but that's a PITA.

LOL at people comparing that figure and thinking it's actually meaningful

If you're not using it for comparison then why post it in your profile.

For all intents and purposes it's a meaningless number.

edit: this was ment to be like ten posts up, i got owned by slow internets.

i dont know much about dyno plots and torque at wheels, gear, final, stock rated,
but i kinda getting the impression im looking at two different ways of measuring torque, wheels and engine,

i read it like this(stock)
blacktop 162nm
caldina 3sgte 324 Nm
1uzfe 422 nm.

b16a 150 nm
b18c 187 nm

most of the figures on that thread are over 400nm well into 1uzfe territory, i don't by it, thats like triple the factory claims, and matts way of looking at it seems to make more sense.

how is posting it in my profile comparing it? People often ask what was the wheel tq figure so I put it up there. I only took whats on the dyno plot..

I only ever compare same dyno same day as thats really the only fair way to do it :)

So you put a meaningless number up and then they're in contented state of ignorant bliss...

I can only re-state my previous observation about people quoting ATW torque figures...They have no idea what they really mean.
