are you taking the piss or do you not know that EVO is one of the more reputable UK performance car magazines? they pretty much cover solely supercars and get first dib drives on pretty much every awesome car ever made.

lol yes, I was taking the piss/a jab at evo owners with 'mad externals bro'

This.

The instant you hear V8, you think of common cars like commodores, falcons, etc. knowing it's got a V10 makes you think it's a supercar... which the LF-A will be.

+1 although Audi pulled it off in the R8 (at least I seem to remember its a V8), that car sounds choice IRL. not a typical V8 sound though

There was alot of info around suggesting it was going to be a V8 as thats where F-1 had gone and they borrowed alot of F-1 technology with this car.But I to am glad they stuck with the V-10 it sounds like absolute music at full noise.

They made a V10 version as well :)
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

The V10, which is based on a Lamborghini engine, only came out in Dec last year, don't know if there are any in NZ yet.

The engine won't sound like the V8 noise you probably expect because it's a flat plane engine with eight seperate crank pins and an even firing sequence, not a four journal common pin crank with uneven firing like the typical American iron ;)

only advantage of the CBD location of where I worked in welly was the occasional lambo/aston/r8 that would drive past from the dealer across the road. i swear the techs only ever used 1st gear so they could rev them on purpose

I dunno, they are just two cars that happen to have V8s. Its like saying "The instant you hear straight 6, you think of Valients/Falcons"... guess its like ink blot tests :P

Not sure which kind of 8 you want it to sound like, but there is no shame in a supercar sounding anything like this kind of V8: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-U-D_egr-a4

Not sure if we're thinking on the same plane here
I mean when I hear that it's got a V8 in it, I instantly think of Falcons/Commodores... Same thing with I6's - I think Supra/Skyline.

Then V10 just makes me think supercar for some reason.

Not pro enough to differentiate between sounds.
Rb's are easy to pick, Hondas too. Can tell a dirty holden/ford v8 cos they don't sound like a mean v8 at all.

Just found this the first real road test I've seen of the LF-A in the Gazoo Racing LF-A's which apparently will be very similar in performance to the road going versions.

www.autocar.co.uk

You'll have to use the search function from there but the video is a good watch and theres heaps of good info on the LF-A aswell.

Just found this also:

http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2009/09/20 ... -with.html

This pretty close to the finished product I normally hate white cars but I think the LF-A looking like this is real good..I'm liking it more and more everytime I see it... 8)
