Do all Mods have a sticker/banner? just a thought might make longer term members more noticeable in the community. Although I'm sure some would have to choose which car to put it on, not looking at anyone lloyd.

Constructive criticism comes to mind :) or "e-moan"

Some little improvements would be good though. I like the idea of a wiki for tech articles etc.

I have a couple of stickers on my car from about 3-4 years ago, have a couple to replace them too... but good things take time / years.

are there any banners ready for sale? I think I may need a new one due to stone chips in the viewing area/not exactly straight putting on of the banner, it leans to the toy side of toyspeed

I too like it the way it is.
Easy to navigate around and stuff.
I think it has had a re-vamp once before a few years back diddn't it?

I used to have a Toyspeed banner across my windscreen on the race car,
but race class sponsorship took over that spot.

Out of interest if I wanted to use the toyspeed club name for something who would I contact?

I'm fairly certain phpBB3 (the new version of the forum) has a built in function for effectively updating a phpBB2 forum. The whole structure would be identical, you can use the same theme, and I don't think there are many differences navigation wise. These forums have remained pretty much unchanged for at least the last 4 years, personally I don't think it would hurt to take a few steps forward.

Well you could put a request in to have different styles installed and available from the profile tab? :)

I don't keep stock due to the cost, but www.whitesigns.co.nz should have stock of both options and do post/courier them out :)

Yes I could, but I'd rather push for an upgrade to CMS+Forum rather keep settling for just a forum. The blue comment was a side note.

An upgrade also doesn't mean having a billion subforums. Structure can stay the same. I'm effectively pushing for a better site in terms of knowledge and know how.

Again, the best way to achieve this is with contributions to the knowledge base. We need some people to write some good articles :-)

What extra functionality would you want from a CMS? Document management? Calendering? Photo / Image areas?

I have a couple fo tutorials on st18x i can transfer over.
But they are Celica specific and not generalised. Hence why I didn't post them here. Having delineated areas for specific models of cars makes indexing and searching easier, see :)

So someone can come along and click Trueno/Levin or Supra or Celica and they are presented with articles or how tos related to those specific cars.

Yes there are lot of general how to's that can crossover, and there are also numerous sites that provide this info, but I know for a fact that the international community knows Toyspeed and trusts a fair amount of knowledge that is on here as well.

Go for event management, go for a photo gallery or wiki or knowledge base.
Find a CMS that allows you to do it with modules so you have flexibility to do as you wish. I'm only chucking it out there to try and drive some changes. Others should provide an opinion on features they like on other sites that could benefit Toyspeed here.

CMS is not out of the question (already being discussed) but does introduce overheads; not only from a content perspective but also from a security perspective (I maintain several CMS, and when a vulnerability is detected, suddenly I have several hours work...)

So ensuring benefit is greater than cost :-)

Very happy for model specific stuff to go into the FAQ forum with an appropriate heading. If enough model-specific stuff is generated, we'll create specific sub-forums. No point until there's a need.

And the same goes with a normal hack on a website or forum. Granted, trying to find the hack route is more time consuming, but KISS principle also helps in mitigating security issues.

Again, I'm just trying to drive some changes and get people excited about being a part of toyspeed. And no, it doesn't have to be lots of meets and events. But it does help when you can say, yes, i belong to this knowledgeable community that really supports the people who are a part of it.

Just I would like to point out that this colour scheme is the most pleasant to the eyes.
I would not mind having shades of grey and red, as long as background is not completely white or black. Black background is worse kind for sites. Unless you like afterglow...
