New car battery

Postby Urban-Cruiser » Fri Aug 28, 2009 11:33 am

Where is a good place to get a new battery for my rolla? And what price should I expect to pay?

It depends on the physical size of the battery, CCA rating of it. We sell AA batteries and range from $115 for a 300 CCA and small terminals, right up to the larger 600 CCA batteries that are about $170?? don't quote me on the price for the large batteries, smaller type is definitely that price/

Avoid any made by Exide (Marshall etc) as they're not that good.

considering there are actually that many manufacturers of batteries, just different sticks, i to found that a bit interesting to diss a certain brand???

Since switching to Century supplied batteries a year ago, we've gone from averaging 5 claims a week to none.

My last battery was from Marshall. Lasted 2yrs.
How come it seems batteries that originally come with the car last longer?
And was told batteries suited for diesel cars last longer in petrol cars.

I'll take a stab that diesels being higher compression are harder to turn over so require higher CCA batteries. Just a wild stab though

My 'second' battery I got for the Levin lasted 3 years, so probably comes down to how hard its life is too. I'd be pretty annoyed if my expensive one didn't last that long!
