mag repairs
ok ive got a set of mags on my old rolla which i quite like except that over time and mostly my ex they have gotten pretty badly curbed its mainly just the two on the passengers side.
anyway my question is what the best/easiest/cheapest way to fix them? they are shadow chrome (i think) but im not to worried if they end up different i dont want want them to look like crap but dont want to spend too much on them. some of the marks on them are pretty bad and deep.
can anyone suggest anyone? that is good and cheap?
thanks guys (and gals)

ok this is the mags at a distance. this is the best one i think there's pretty much no damage (there's not as many spokes as there could be lol)
the passengers side front is really bad most of the pics are of that one.
the others have a rim on the edge this one has no rim left its been ground away.
the other 3 wheels are more like this just the odd stone chip here and there. the two from the drivers side barely have any chips at all.
hope that helps. wat do ya recon it would cost? as i said there's the main damaged one that's pretty bad the second ones not too bad and the other two are petty good *sorry about all the break dust probably doesn't help*

hmm its pretty bad ay, that wheel would be around the $200 mark (give or take a little) to have it fully restored, does kinda leave the question is it worth it ?

yea thats the real question what do u think the others would be worth? i paid about $2000 for the set brand new when i got them. i dont really wanna fork out for another new set of mags and dont really wanna get some off trademe that have dents or marks for the same as what it would cost me to get these fixed (coz i quite like these) and two of the tyres are still mint.

yeah i see what ur saying, in that condition its more a matter or how long it would take to sell not what they are worth, they are worth what someone is willing to pay for them and thats it. i have sets that sit here for ages and others that fly out, and sometimes those ones are cheaper than the ones that move.

Yeah those are pretty bad, nasty nasty curbs!
yea needs more air its off the rd at the mo coz its had no wof for about a year and got no reg. the front of the car is also sitting at full height on a jack so thats probably not helping either.
im not to worried about value or selling point they are just going on my old rolla wgn im trying to do it up and dont want it to look to bad its getting a new paint job in the summer and dont want the mags to spoil it. i also wanna find out what the costs are before i get the wof (which im hoping to get next week) as i will need to new tyres on the front and dont wanna stuff around getting tyres for this if i end up getting different mags (if its not worth fixing)
flawless: ur not much help with the bad memory/not remembering lol

Make sure you put the reg on hold
[backyard customz] tidy up the sharp bits on the spokes, and bog the gouges, then take a wheel into a auto paint shop and ask for a colour matches spray can. Mask the 'repaired' area and give them a spray, spraying a small amount on the unrepaired part in an effort to blend the paint. Probably no point fixing the edge of the rim as next time you get a tyre taken off it might all come undone, so just give that a sand/ light file and give that a spray too. [/backyard customz]
That will give you an 'ok' result, which will look better than it does now, but not like new or anything. Its a $30 repair compared to a possible $400+ repair. Hit one of the toyspeed tyre gurus up for a price for some new rims maybe, then flog yours off on trademe to subsidise the new wheels cost.

regos actually on A class so should be allright. and just looked on carjam and wof actually only expired 3 months ago so not too bad but my ex has had it untill not long ago and he really abused it. hence the state of the mags.
id rather spend $400 on repairing these esp if its back to the shadow chrome? than spending $400 on some half decent mags with half decent tyres and at that price i will still probably end up with some curbing or marks. these are advanti and a nice set of mags if it wasent for the damage. * well i like them anyway*
