Auto to manual converters? - Auckland

Postby Dopamean » Thu Sep 10, 2009 1:11 pm

Hey lads,

Anyone used a service like this in Auckland and what was your experience?

I've been running around on the auto in my bz touring wagon and while this does suit Auckland congested traffic I would like to move over to a manual.

Any feedback would be appreciated, being in the events industry I have little time to attempt this myself so would probably be paying someone to do the job if it’s worthwhile.

From what I've read in the forum a C56 is what I should be looking at.

Might be easier to sell the car and buy a manual one.
It'll cost a lot to get a company to convert it. Doing it yourself you could do it much cheaper and maybe be worthwhile.

Its all relative really, if your cars not worth selling, than a manual one is going to be in the same boat so similar priced. /maybe

paying someone to do it will prob cost half the price of the car.

The story normally goes that unless you can do it all yourself, its not worth it. This does come up a few times, and people usually decide against it, which overall, is probably the right idea.

If a manual is that important, sell up and grab something that suits you better. If its not, just grin and bear it till you want a new car and get a manual next.
