Rain-X Anti Fog.... GRRR!

I bought some anti-fog stuff. I think it was Bars Bugs or something. Anyway, its great for a while, but after a week or so, you seem to have this foggy appearance to your windscreen. And it looks like a big crystal kind of pattern!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

+1 i tried it and it worked a treat, lasted for a while too

Old post.. so sorry to revive..
My 2c.
I got the RainX anti fog to work.
Clean windown first... VERY VERY THROUGHLY.
Apply light coating of anti-fog.
DON'T TOUCH THE WINDOW AGAIN...
Lasted quite a while and seemed to work. For a car with no air con it was a bit of a godsend... then I decided to give the window a bit of a wipe to get rid of some various smudgey finger marks... and it all went straight to hell.
Has never worked since on that windscreen...
Can't recommend it on side or rear windows either...
Seemed to be some combination of blowing air over the anti fog that kept it working. Same car, on a side window is was fubar from the start.
Now I know people will start going "well of course blowing air over the window demists it". And you're right. But with anti-fog it was very very quick to demist all the time. Before anti fog I would have to sit there and wait till the screen cleared up. With anti fog I would normally just drive off and before reaching the end of the driveway it was normally clear. You could also see where I'd missed a spot on the screen.

Another tip to get clean smudge free windows is to wipe over with wet newspaper (black n white print only) and then dry it off with the same.
We used this to get off the old anit-fog rainex before applying a new layer in the targa car

Yup, also had a bad experience with the anti fog one, and a good experience with the rain one (waxing the windows when you wax the car also helps).

A bit odd ball, but I heard that Coca Cola is best for the outside. I thought they were taking the p*ss, but it worked well 
.
Best "proper" stuff though - is the small window cleaner bottles from Wurth - very hard to find though from what I hear - but we stock it here. Best auto window cleaner on the market IMO
