The exhaust isnt mentioned on the LVV cert plate full stop. You get a sticker on your muffler with a number/hologram logo. You get a piece of paper to say when you passed and what you passed. Then you get another piece of paper with a drawing of the exhaust under the car, and a description/list of measurements of each component. Ill get mine outa my car in the morning and scan it

Mate i know wat ur sayin tell that to the cops coz i couldnt get it through his head....he believes it should be along with the rest of the stuff on the plate....

He thinks but i have proof its not..but im gona get this cert thing done an see if this works....

Youve proven by showing a pitt stop noise test. According to pitt stop, my car is half the volume it actually is. So if you go by the same formula, you car is ACTUALLY 100 and something dB which is well over the legal limit.

The law states, if you modify an exhaust system alot louder than factory, you need to get an objective noise test done, to prove that it is still within legal grounds. A pitt stop noise test just doesnt cut it. Like going to the pharmacy and getting the guy behind the counter to write you a Dr's cert when your sick.


Catch is, your car is apparantly 93 dB according to pitt stop. My car was 80 something according to them.

My car is ACTUALLY 94 dB. Whats yours? You didnt undergo a controlled test in a controlled environment, using accurate (It might have been, but no one has proof) equipment. Suck it up, pay ya 150 for your obj noise test, go get your greenie removed, and it wont happen again

An as i said since he was soo sure it should be there on the plate it makes me wonder if that would have even mattered as i just have spoken to my mechanic an he has just told me that he has had sum customers get in trouble even with the cert.....

Im always nice to them an never a handfull but this guy was like a cop out of hell......an i have been ok so far until today....

And your car isnt technically road legal. So hes doing his job by getting it off the road. And as i said, your car could be up to 100 dB or more. You nor him have no way of knowing other than the fact its farking loud

Im gona do the cert an pay more money here an there again to be legal until it all changes again i suppose.........i personally think its unfair an the funny thing is i was gettin hassled an fined an my mate told me some of his mates drove off right in front of the cops drunk off their faces in a car with chopped springs seriously i felt like they were out to get me today for some reason as they looked hard to find anyfaults with the car an then he got sooo happy to ping me on the exhaust thing.

As i said my car isnt loud people were shoked wen they heard it got green stickered for my exhaust system....an as you seem to be so sure my car is loud then why on earth did vtnz pass me???

Isnt loud when? Idling? At 5000 RPM? 9000 RPM? Not loud at all? Louder than factory?

It sucks, but this is a prime example of why to cert everything you can and do your research. For what its worth, its only like 90 to get the green removed, and 150 for the obj noise test which you will have to do to get it removed. So 90 bucks of lesson well learned :(

Its my supra.....the soarer is loud ill admit an has no cert but it never gets hassled an has never been green stickered.....the supra is far quieter....

So.. your 400kw car is not that loud? You cant drive a fast, loud car and not expect attention from the police, hell, my civic is 1/4 the power of your supra and i get attention.

well, i gotta say it sounds like:
cops hears car clearly with non standard exhaust
so pulls it over.
driver has nothing official to say the exhaust has had its cert, or official test.
car is in the cops opinion significantly louder than stock, so he issues ticket.

you thought you had the paper work to prove you were legal, but unfortunately you don't....


btw if you went into an exhaust shop and said "put an exhaust on my car please" and it failed a noise test.... imo they are then liable as they sold you a product not fit for purpose. would depend what you asked for though...

Its a trust exhaust system im just gutted after spending thousands of dollers my car gets green stickered like a piece of poop :(
