Well i have just been brought tickets to goto auckland for 4days but what is there good to do?
I know there is the skytower + jumping off it or the harbour bridge,
there is the zoo and rainbows end. Not really keen for kelly tarltons as we have already done a big aquarium in aus this year
Whats the viaduct like?

So any suggestions? tips? advice

drive to the coromandel/northland/raglan/piha?

Can't say I would choose to come visit here, not a bad place to live IMO though.

lol @ rainbows end. I wouldn't bother.

Plenty of dining etc in viaduct/mission bay.

Could go over to devonport/waiheke on the ferry.

Not sure about race meets but you will need to travel ~ 1hour to get there form CBD

I find the museum choice but better things to do unless its raining as it takes a good day to get right around.

Plenty of dormant volcanoes to walk up

waiheke is choice, just like small town NZ with heaps of beaches, craft stores restaurants, wineries etc

Well they have craters but are more just hills.
Rangitoto is a ferry trip away, Mt Eden is a bus trip, as is One Tree Hill.

Can't remember if North Head and Mt Victoria were volcanoes but they're a ferry trip over to devonport.

One Tree hill is nice, theres a big park + farm + mountain/hill so a bit to see. Good for a picnic if you are that way inclined (score points with the mrs?)

Also got to choose if i wanna bungy jump of the harbour bridge or jump of skytower :twisted:

More to do on waiheke, rangitoto is pretty much a lump of rock with trees. A big lump, but a lump nonetheless. There are some sweet abandoned baches from back in the day when people holiday-ed(sp) there.

Waiheke is a pretty sweet getaway, lol also likely to score points there.

If you wanna go jump off things (which I haven't and don't plan too) from what I have heard the Harbour bridge jump is pretty cool, - traditional jump, whereas off the skytower its set up differently.

Only know people who have climbed the mast of skytower or walked around the outside not jumped so can't say. I can only imagine that it is hella high, and you would be falling for a longer period of time jumping off the sky tower than the harbour bridge, but I don't think you get to bouce up and down.

if you into the outdoorsy stuff you could do the harbour kayak to rangitoto then hike the crater, good way to kill a day if its warm out

I believe all the tunnels etc on northhead are now all locked up/have been for a few years now

ive been up the second crows nest from the top of the skytower, what a view!! . never jumped tho. keep in mind i dont think its a 'free fall' more of a controled decent. id still do it instead the harbour bridge tho just for the height of it

North Head iirc. Waiheke. Mission bay + ice cream is good for browny points with the mrs. Piha is ok for surf + lessons if you are into that kind of thing? Otara markets :lol:

Museum? Rainbows end isnt that bad, yeh it sucks compared to international theme parks, but its better than a carnival. Go to the sky tower rotating restaurant. K Rd at midnight :lol:

I dont have my expectations high for rainbows end but i dont mind riding the corkscrew all day and that ride like the giant drop

The rotating restaurant sounds pretty good?

For anyone that has done the jump off the skytower though does the price of the jump include the entry up the skytower?

And also how hard is the travelling system to work out up there?
