Size of the debt my play a part too.... $75 debt of $60,000 dept would surely be different. But seriously, who would bother trying to recover $75... your fee would be sfa :?

Take it to Evans European :D
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

Yeah I'm happy that he's willing to pay, I am not looking for crazy nice panel beaters, a 2nd hand undamaged door replacement will make me grin from ear to ear though as I'm not a fan of bog, sand and paint.

Good stuff man! glad to hear they're being good about it.

I've used that blacklist site - very quick in putting you in touch with a debt collector 8O mine hadn't even been listed for a day before i had collectors falling over each other to recover it.

Update:

went to his preferred panel beater, told the guy his name, the panel beater is like ??? don't even know him, okay whatever.

Can't even get an official quote because he has to hunt the parts down. But roughly $2k+

Went to another panel beater down the road from my place, quoted $2.6k+, pending hunting the parts down coz it's so rare.

Told the hit and run dude about the bad news, he's like "What the hell are monsoons?"

me: The weather thing that protects you from the rain when you open the window:

Him: What? the weather strip?

Me: No, the rain guard

eventually he gets it but he totally refusing to pay for the monsoons. I told him that it's part of the damage, but he's got "hookups" that he can get me the part and "they're just clipped on anyway" and he can "get it for cheap"

I'm trying to hold the rage within me, but he's trying to jedi me into only fixing the "panel and paint"

I told him that the monsoons ain't worth much, the paint itself is $1k and there's fixing stuff to be done. But he's too ignorant to listen.

Anyways, waiting for an official quote from his panel beater of choice.

/rant

but still rage tho.

Edit: engrish

Meet up with him with a hidden camera, or talk to him over the phone and record it, and make get a copy of him admitting liability. Tell him you've got evidence of him admitting liability, and that you've had enough dicking around, and you want results or you'll hand it over to the Police.

I'd say that’s excessive and I would be unwilling to pay that.
What is the cost of the monsoon shield from Suzuki as if it is rare most likely it will come from there.

Can't say I've seen many of those cars on the road but check parts connection for availability doubt that it would be an easy to find that part.

IMO, if he's willing to pay save yourself more grief and do some of the leg work yourself, a hassel yes but ultimatly you will be happier sooner.
Find the part and show him the costs.

1500 max is what id pay.
The scrape hardly justifies a new door.......

Shit is that all  I was expecting a gaping gash in the side of it :o

You want a new door for that? holy shit thats a bit dramatic. I'd be careful if I was you, push it too far and you'll just end up with a fight on your hands. Monsoons are gay why not just take em off, get it panel/painted and be done with it? How much is the monsoon priced at anyway?
