silvertop sump removal

hahaha yep that pretty much sums it up for me too! draining the oil overnight..

is there anything else I should be looking to replace/ clean etc with the sump off? was planning to have a looksee at the oil pick up... is there anything else I should inspect whilst its apart?

make sure the surface of the block, windage tray and sump are clean!!! or the adhesive wont stick. then it will start leaking...

Yep spent ages ensuring there was nothing left on the sump (is there a special tool for this to get right into the 'grooves'/ wells that are there for the seal? just used a metal ruler to scrape it out in the end) + nothing left on the bottom of the block - put the new seal on last night just need to put the mount back on, crossmember back in + tighten up the subframe... turns out leaving the exhuast there was actaully an advantage (put it back on on my own..) as it would hold up one part whilst tightening the other side? ha! bonus!
