heater controls on an AE115 Carib

Postby rmf55 » Mon Oct 05, 2009 9:06 am

Hey everyone

my flatmate has broken the circular heating controls on his carib, and lost the part. I think it might actually be the switch that is broken too because you can move the rod the plastic switch connects to and it doesn't seem to be doing anything. any recommended wreckers and what part should I buy- just the plastic click in rotator knob or the actual manual controls behind it?

this is a picture of it: http://www.fitaudio.com/?View=entry&EntryID=139

cheers all

well if you can move the stalk but nothing happens, that would suggest its more than just the knob....
which one is it?

its the air direction knob on the left hand side. i managed to get it half out but can't figure out how the top half clicks out. are there some screws inside the heater knobs or something? I saw some tiny round holes but they looked like rivets. anyone know where it releases from?

thanks mate, i'll have to have a closer look cos i couldn't find them, although it was getting a bit dark when i looked. there are 3 knobs so maybe 1 screw under each.

if i can get it off i should be able to clearly see how much of the actual internal system is broken.
