I need to work out how hard it would be to make 20v quads fit on another (non-Toyota) engine. Does anyone have a CAD drawing, or even a scanned image of the gasket that fits between the individual TBs and the manifold.
I also need one for the manifold that they bolt on to, or at the very least the centre to centre spacing of the throttle intake runners where the TBs bolt on.
i fit them to all sorts of engines,
generally all i do is make a new plate for them to bolt to with the port spacing of the engine i intend to fit them to, then weld that plate to the original runners cut down to a workable length,
some i do require a new head plate and runners to meet the quad mounting plate
its easy enough to make the quads work together if they are spaced further apart just a a matter of extending the contacts for opening,
i have this drawing on file at north shore water cutting,
any mods i make i just give them the new port centers,
ive recently had a 6 cyl one cut for a 2jzgte
Thanks guys. Now I'll have to do some measuring of the engine to see what's going to work.
Probably have to get new runners cast, or possibly CNC machined if they're simple enough. This is mainly because the original ones use Bosch K-Jetronic mechanical fuel injection, and I don't think there's enough metal in the runners to easily machine the seats at the correct angle for new electronic injectors. Also there's not much room to fit a single fuel rail with the current setup and I want to keep it a simple as possible as well as keeping the height down because it's a downdraft system with limited space before it hit's the engine cover.
Probably use silvertop TB's because the engine is only 375cc/cylinder and they seem to be easier to get hold of than blacktop ones.
