Happy Birthday Toyspeed

Postby Chelles » Tue Oct 13, 2009 5:19 pm

Toyspeed turns another year older this month... anyone wanna take a stab at how old we are now (this is for the old school members).

Its been an interesting few years but we are still here and we are still going strong. Not to many of the original members around these days but those of us who are around have seen some real good times and people (yeah yeah and a few knobs who we could have done with out - Levin Kid for one! )

Lets hear your most favorite Toyspeed moment/story.

here's mine...

Queens Birthday trackdays at Taupo. They were the precursor to Megameet and man-o-man were there some awesome times on and off the track! I do miss them! Made some great friends from these days.
'96 RS Mirage Race car... (and when I'm a good girl; EVO 1!!) 2014 Toyota Hilux - daily driver!!
Gone but not forgotten: Race car AE85.6 Levin, AE101 Trueno, 84 MR2 AW11, 94 MR2 SW20, SR coupe KE35, AE92 FXGT, AE91 FXZS...

Well when I joined the old forum I was 17, and now I'm 25 so TS is at least 8 years, but probably 9. My best memories are numerous late night runs out to Piha, Bethels and other random destinations, far too many drunken parties around 2001/2002, and the ocassioanl not-so-legal races between a stripped out Corsa and a certain ae101 that used to appear in Auckland every few weeks

I remember those, I was driving my Levin at that track day, was that also the one that we did a cruize around the mountain and up Turoa and Mark (gt4sum/skin) got pulled over in Ohakune by the cops about 100m from where we were all parked?

Much the same for myself, Bethells etc runs were good times, heaps of parties at Erins. New Years at Paihia was heaps of fun that year, getting pulled over in Kevin's dodgy Holden with a screwdriver for a key. And the grasskhana in Raglan that the Hamilton boys organised, much fun skidz.

The first megameet, and the not so smart idea of driving down in the middle of the night and the ensuing car crash carnage, heaps of good times.

Wish I'd been there for the armed defenders call out....

That's what i was referring to, remember we also had a four car nose to tail in the Hutt during the cruise, some kid in a green KE70 smashed into someone from Chch who was in a rental who hit someone else in a pulsar or something who then crashed into me

Coming on here and finding some deep connections with #Auckland....

And that time I started that contraversial thread. Which one? Doesn't matter!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.
