Opinions on Altezzas with 2litre 6 cylinder engine?

Postby oem-r » Fri Oct 23, 2009 12:25 pm

As above, someone wants to swap my car with one of these 1999, has factory bodykit and leather trim interior, 120kms auto.

Just wondering if theres any common problems with these models? and how does the motor go for a 6 cylinder 2litre? I know the beams 3sge goes better but dont tell me to get one, as i just want to know information about this.

Figures on fuel consumption etc would be helpful.

Any help would be much appreciated

Thanks

They're pretty gutless really, my in-laws had one. Wasnt bad on gas from what I recall, but couldnt give you figures. They arent the type to go thrashing it all over the place though.

my sister had one and it was fairly thirsty, and a bit gutless. 4cyl eats it for economy and power. i thought it was a pretty disappointing engine. a good cruiser i spose but not as economical as i would have thought...

Smooth engine, no reliability issues that I know of.

As for economy, check this thread from ACNZ

Sweet cheers for the quick replies, does anyone know what offset the factory 17' altezza wheels run? theyre 5x114.3 right..?

How would a set of 17x9 front and rear go on a altezza with 15p offset? :D

Factory wheels are 5X114.3 17X7 50p offset

so the 17X9 15p offset would be 45 mm further out towards the guards, so unless you have a wide body kit NO...

ah perhaps I was thinking of high offset. SOmething made me think they were 5x110 though, obviously wrong.

I figured they were cos ive seen altezza wheels on hiace vans.

Hmm 30p offset may be more suitable? alittle bit of guard rolling should do the trick shouldnt it? :!:

Im running 18X8 at 40p thats a mint offset with out my gaurds being rolled, 30p would possibly be to low, unless you get your guards rolled... that would possibly be touch and go still

the 1gfe motors are puss. and remember the wheel width must be equal to or greater than half height. get the roller out RWD toyotas need low offset, closer to 0 the better :D
