Heres a question for radiator people.
I've got a radiator that I had re-cored about 5 years ago for the race car (it's copper). There have been a number of engines in the car over the years but they have all been flushed well or clean rebuilds, so no rust or other foreign bodies floating around in the coolant.
The radiator fan is on all the time as I removed the aircon and some aircon switch is missing now, so the fan stays on, doesn't really bother me as it's a race car anyway.
I found my water temp going up the other day and after some testing I have found that there is no water flowing through the radiator at all around where the fan mounts (about 1/2 the radiator) and as it is where the fan mounts, the fan is doing no good. The other 1/2 of the radiator seems to work fine.
Is it possible to over-cool coolant and make it congeal in the radiator?
I'm using the Repco Anti-Freeze/Anti-Boil coolant which says it is mostly ethylene glycol.
