On re-reading your first post, do you mean welding the strut body onto the lower casting? the bit with the two arms that link to the hub and lower arm?

i want to do a few track days. And i'm getting really confused here, can't i just buy a set of adjustables (shocks, springs and all the sh*t that comes with it) and that'll be all the parts i need? what do you mean by converting shocks into adjustable coil overs?
